Episode 44, the first of (hopfully) many for 2009!

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

Big thank you to LaVista Vista, and Van Hemlock for their help with the intro, exposing the naughty ferrogel duping scam!

Well its not really a Duping thing to be honest, its more like an explot which wasn't caught for years. All we know is the ban stick been used to smite many players and take out an alliance.

Its just the kind history story to go into the long promised EVElopedia which if now finally with us (although only in a beta version).

Ingame news, BOB finally completly gives up with its MAX campain in the north, and heads down south to fight their old enemies, the goons. All in all the goons seem to be doing rather nicely.

Morus Mihi are still doing well, Tau Ceti sets up a Franchise operation and IRON contiune to travel through 0.0 like a bunch of nomads.

2 epic LOL Mails this week, Firstly Blinky brings you the MoP's drone Scorpion

while Urban's replies with Shigsy's light autocannon, sheild tanked, drone free, BCU fitted Dominix.

For the discussionn point we talk about the Apocrypha Expansion

although Urban (as usual) has trouble pronocing the name. Still the addition of Tech 3 "lego ships" looks pretty damn spiffeh!.

For homework this week, blinky would like you to check out the execlent World war Z by Max Brooks. Brain eating zombies 4TW!

CONTEST!! Win $100 worth of blig from the the EVE Store just tell us your most funny Christmas + EVE Related story. E vemail them to winterblink for your chance to win.

Industrialists rejoice! Sleyn Peade has completed his epic moo map project helping you find riches beyond your wildest dreams!

The Alliance Tournament is comming up soon YAY. We muse about it in an typically uniformed manner!

According to this article from the Guardian thigs are so bad in Iceland that CCP may be forced to leave. the guys at GUComics have their own take on that.

Lead out tune 'The Devil in me' by the 22-20s

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

Blimey! The EVE map has totally changed!. Firstly Triumverate have collapsed and other notherners scramble to grap their space. In Fountain BRUCE are getting a kicking from Pandemic Leigon.

In the south, BOB and GOONS are going at it, The Goonies haven't had much luck with titans, with one getting popped, one newly built one running away still at least SUAS knows how to use one BOOYA!

AAA are winning the battle against IAC, with thing looking bleak for anyone in the southern bit and due to a (typical) failure of research we notice that some guys called Solar Fleet and Solar Wing have shown up and we know sod all about them!

LOLMAILS are back, with the funniest killmails which get sent to us. Fighting for the prize this week we have UNiiSaRus rocket Drake (Midslot moduleS? Who needs em!) versus jacksfrosty and his omnitanked autocannon megathron.

Got a good kill mail for us to ridicule on the show? evemail the link to Urban Mongral or Winterblink!

In Discussion point this week, we have have a chat about the Empyrean Age expansion in general and factional warfare in particular. We do a basic explanation on how its goign to work and Blinky indulges in a bit of xenophobia

For homework this week Blinky recomends Life after people a tale of nature retaking the planet if all the humans disappear.

In Community news, The CSM election results are in congratulations to everyone who got elected, The first council meetings have already taken place and a new bit of the forum has been set up.

Theres a change to the game time cards which is causing a load of complaints. The 30 and 90 days cards are going and 60 day cards are being brought in.

Epic new movie called Clear Skies. Its an EVE machinima using the HL2 engine! Well worth downloading and watching repeatedly

We interview the man behind it John Rourke AKA Ian Chisholm. An what a nice chap he is too!

Join our GAX Group Pretty please with nuts on top!

Cartography news! Serenity Steele and MMM publishing have created the rather spiffeh EVE Maps book., It also contains the new low sec regions between Caldari and Gallente space

To win a copy of the EVE map book book, check out the sample page, and then make your own map for what ever fictional location which you think will make us laugh!

Lead out tune, 'Space Game' by MC Lars.

Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

Episode 37, With EVE now five years (and 2 weeks) old we decided to put out a special show to celebrate the event and too look back to the dark days in 2003 when the game first launched.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

First up we have an interview with Valerie "Pann" Massey. (she's the one on the right). Blinky should really turn his phone off in interviews though.

Check this out Goonies! Pann really liked the Little Bee's movie

Back in the early days of the game, the game was published by Simon & Schuster Interactive who had some weird ideas about marketing the game

They though making the box look like this was a good idea. They then filled it with garishly colored crap like the manual and finally put out some horrible movies like this one.

We also got Pann to admit that SSI did force the game to release too early!

Even though SSI has now shut down, we manage to snag Mike "Campion" Wallace to hear his side of things. He was the man who brought EVE to SSI and he also was EVE's first producer. He is now the boss of Colony Studio.

After SSI shut down, CCP bought back the rights to publish the game and put it up online to download for free. This was a radical move in 2003!

We then move onto talking to some of the important players in the early days of the game. First up we talked to Trey Ratcliff from John Galt Games. Oldskool players may remember him as Ragnar, the first boss of Taggart Transdimensional Inc.

Just to remind you that Trey is the man in over-all charge of the Web Wars EVE Project.

Sadly we can't get him to talk about Ragnar's Magic Hat, but its OK, Urban remembers!

No look back to 2003 would be the same without a bunch of evil Bastads called m0o, in this history of MMO's nobody has managed to rule an entire game quite like those guys.

we then welcome two of the m0o veterans Stavros for about the 9 millionth time on the show and Vegeta.

Incidentally, the background music we have used for the interview segments is "the shadow of the sun" by Alienhand. Thanks very much for letting us use the tune sir!

Anyway we hope you've enjoyed this mammoth look back at the early days of EVE, we will (with luck) be doing some more shows based on the events of other years. No promises and no time frames, but we would really like to do this.

Lead out tune, "Time Warp" from the Rocky Horror Show.

Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

P.S. Congratz to Lavista Vista and all the other successful candiates.
