EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

Blimey! The EVE map has totally changed!. Firstly Triumverate have collapsed and other notherners scramble to grap their space. In Fountain BRUCE are getting a kicking from Pandemic Leigon.

In the south, BOB and GOONS are going at it, The Goonies haven't had much luck with titans, with one getting popped, one newly built one running away still at least SUAS knows how to use one BOOYA!

AAA are winning the battle against IAC, with thing looking bleak for anyone in the southern bit and due to a (typical) failure of research we notice that some guys called Solar Fleet and Solar Wing have shown up and we know sod all about them!

LOLMAILS are back, with the funniest killmails which get sent to us. Fighting for the prize this week we have UNiiSaRus rocket Drake (Midslot moduleS? Who needs em!) versus jacksfrosty and his omnitanked autocannon megathron.

Got a good kill mail for us to ridicule on the show? evemail the link to Urban Mongral or Winterblink!

In Discussion point this week, we have have a chat about the Empyrean Age expansion in general and factional warfare in particular. We do a basic explanation on how its goign to work and Blinky indulges in a bit of xenophobia

For homework this week Blinky recomends Life after people a tale of nature retaking the planet if all the humans disappear.

In Community news, The CSM election results are in congratulations to everyone who got elected, The first council meetings have already taken place and a new bit of the forum has been set up.

Theres a change to the game time cards which is causing a load of complaints. The 30 and 90 days cards are going and 60 day cards are being brought in.

Epic new movie called Clear Skies. Its an EVE machinima using the HL2 engine! Well worth downloading and watching repeatedly

We interview the man behind it John Rourke AKA Ian Chisholm. An what a nice chap he is too!

Join our GAX Group Pretty please with nuts on top!

Cartography news! Serenity Steele and MMM publishing have created the rather spiffeh EVE Maps book., It also contains the new low sec regions between Caldari and Gallente space

To win a copy of the EVE map book book, check out the sample page, and then make your own map for what ever fictional location which you think will make us laugh!

Lead out tune, 'Space Game' by MC Lars.

Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

Episode 37, With EVE now five years (and 2 weeks) old we decided to put out a special show to celebrate the event and too look back to the dark days in 2003 when the game first launched.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

First up we have an interview with Valerie "Pann" Massey. (she's the one on the right). Blinky should really turn his phone off in interviews though.

Check this out Goonies! Pann really liked the Little Bee's movie

Back in the early days of the game, the game was published by Simon & Schuster Interactive who had some weird ideas about marketing the game

They though making the box look like this was a good idea. They then filled it with garishly colored crap like the manual and finally put out some horrible movies like this one.

We also got Pann to admit that SSI did force the game to release too early!

Even though SSI has now shut down, we manage to snag Mike "Campion" Wallace to hear his side of things. He was the man who brought EVE to SSI and he also was EVE's first producer. He is now the boss of Colony Studio.

After SSI shut down, CCP bought back the rights to publish the game and put it up online to download for free. This was a radical move in 2003!

We then move onto talking to some of the important players in the early days of the game. First up we talked to Trey Ratcliff from John Galt Games. Oldskool players may remember him as Ragnar, the first boss of Taggart Transdimensional Inc.

Just to remind you that Trey is the man in over-all charge of the Web Wars EVE Project.

Sadly we can't get him to talk about Ragnar's Magic Hat, but its OK, Urban remembers!

No look back to 2003 would be the same without a bunch of evil Bastads called m0o, in this history of MMO's nobody has managed to rule an entire game quite like those guys.

we then welcome two of the m0o veterans Stavros for about the 9 millionth time on the show and Vegeta.

Incidentally, the background music we have used for the interview segments is "the shadow of the sun" by Alienhand. Thanks very much for letting us use the tune sir!

Anyway we hope you've enjoyed this mammoth look back at the early days of EVE, we will (with luck) be doing some more shows based on the events of other years. No promises and no time frames, but we would really like to do this.

Lead out tune, "Time Warp" from the Rocky Horror Show.

Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

P.S. Congratz to Lavista Vista and all the other successful candiates.

Episode 36, Happy fifth Birthday to EVE!.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

The Tortuga experiment is at an end. While the various alliances make their way back to Empire space, Seleence decides to Disband the MC Good luck in the future to all the former MC Pilots.

SirMolle, the leader of Band of Brothers, cannot help Gloating in poetry form While we may not approve of this, we cannot deny that he has earned the right to.

Former friends IAC and AAA are now at each others throats, AAA are having the best of it making IAC space look like a bow tie.

In the North, the Razor V Insurgency war concludes with Insurgency comming out ahead in ships but with Razor still in control of their space.

LOLMAILS have a new name, they are now FAIL MAILS, but its still the funniest killmails which get sent to us. Fighting for the prize this week we have ZITremedy and his Civillian fitted 'geddon versus Larenic's omni-tanked Myrmidon.

Got a good kill mail for us to ridicule on the show? evemail the link to Urban Mongral or Winterblink!

In Discussion point this week, we raise a glass to 5 years of EVE. Congratulations everyone and heres to the next 5 years!

We also do a little guide to Drugs, Well Combat boosters, to be precise. Give yourself that little edge in Pew-Pew and hope to avoid the side effects.

For homework this week Urban recommends Persian fire the real story behind the film 300.

In Community news, EVE Cast is back!, and kicks of with lots of awesome info with the CSM candidates.

Speaking of the CSM, there is a new forum, Jita Park Speakers Corner.

Voting has begun for the CSM. Registered players can go here to vote .

Music news! Yet another new radio station start us Tri Radio, The alliance may be gone but the radio continues (for now).

Episode 35, Apologies for the rubbish intro, it was Blinky's idea and Urban couldn't talk him out of it. Watching this might help the intro make a bit more sense.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

RAZOR Titan Down. Insurgency with a bit of help from Triumvirate. The invasion of RAZOR space if also going pretty well.

Speaking of Triumvirate, Looks like they have lost a few corps whats more the reasoning behind The Illuminati. getting sack is total madness!

In the south, Band of Brothers turn all their attention against Tortuga in general and MC in particular. The empire strikes back?

Former friends IAC and AAA are now at each others throats, AAA are having the best of it making IAC space look like a bow tie.

OOOH new feature! Ladies and Gentlemen, WDA is proud to bring you LOLMAILS, the funniest killmails we see every week. Fighting for the prize this week we have Evil Edna's uber expencive crow versus Jove Witness's omni-tanked Phobos.

Got a good LOLMAIL for us to ridicule on the show? evemail the link to Urban or Winterblink!

In Discussion point this week, We do a little guide to the UI and brackets, not a million miles from what Crovan did on the Drone Bay TBH, but we recorded it before we heard his show.

For homework this week Blinky would like you to check out the documentary America Freedom to Fascism.

In Community news, Urban finds an execlent new podcast from Van Hemlock, which goes by the imaginative name of The Van Hemlock podcast.

Bacon is back! We forgot discuss it for a bit during the recording (I know, we suck!) but the guys at the

Drone Bay did an excellent voice talking about it that we suggest you listen to that instead.

Episode 34, Urban parties hard at the EON Awards and gets attacked by Bee's while Blinky doesn't do either.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

In the north Insurgency goes up against RAZON. Pretty even in terms of kills but Insurgency seem to have the edge so far.

In the south, BOB are massing fleets and doing a pretty good job at pushing their enemies out of Querious. Good job at bouncing back!

And while we are on the subject of BOB's enemies IAC have a new president. Something to do with Tryraxx nicking a Wyvern and/or pissing off AAA.

Finally there has been a horrendous amount of tinfoil hattery all over the internet about a certain incident which happened this week. We suggest you check out Wranglers News Article about it.

In Discussion point this week, We discuss the new 'YARR' Divsion, (shouldn't it be called 'YARRT' anyway?) and how they are looking for people to help with the new offical EVE Wiki. Very Cool

We, along with GM Grimmi, also remind you that buying ISK is wrong, except if its through the the offical GTC traders.

For homework this week, Urban decides at the last minute that you should check out Amazon Woman on the Moon!. A remarkable example of an eighties comedy which, against all expectation, is actually funny.

In Community news, Wolfenhex has started a new social networking site called Megathron.com. Its still in beta but give him a shout if you can help out,

Join our GAX Group Pretty please with nuts on top!

Insurgency FM is a new radio station for the Northern Alliance who are kind enough to syndicate our podcast for us! Thanks guys

Epispde 33, Blinky gets completely snowed under with work while the inclement weather in the UK causes Urban to sand a large amount of the skin off his arm.

A big thank you to Zapatero and to Kami for helping with the intro. Notice how Kami starts sounding like John Cleese and ends up sounding like Tommy Cooper!

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

MC goes up against Smash Alliance and RoadKill. Looks like smash Kill have put up a good fight though and MC haven't had it all its own way.

In the north, Insurgency capture Phoenix Alliance space very quickly! Good job guys

Jihadswarm continue their war with both miners and good taste, this time producing the most offensive EVE vid ever.

Still its not all going the way of the Goonies as TeddyBr FTW anti goon mercenary army kicks some ass. Amongst his mercs is the fearsome Hello Kitty Initiative.

In Discussion point this week, We discuss Rigs, and how they can make your ship more like the Millenium Falcon.

For homework this week Blinky would like you to check out Lifeforce. ohnoes! Space Vampires!

In Community news, Ginger lets us in on his secret, the one which is not in his pants!

He tell us of the new Mercury Division. of ISD, and put a request for writers to join.

Some good parties coming up. Firstly SirMolle invites you all to the BOB invitational on 26-27th June in Slagelse near Copenhagen in Denmark.

Urban will see you in London for The EON Award Party at The Durrell Arms on the Fulham Road on Saturday 5th March.

And for those on the left side of the pond, there is the other half of the EON Awards in Philadelphia. Zapatero will meet you there. The event will take place Dark Horse Pub at 421 S 2nd St

Show32! Council of Stellar Managment Special.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

Yep show 32 is a pretty special episode. Firstly its special Urban wussed out and went to bed before the discussions started. What a wimp!

Winterblink is not a man to be daunted by this and so he invites onto the show.

In the red corner we have Crovan the bitter old noob. not to mention one of stars on the The Drone Bay.

In the blue corner, all the way from Australia we have Omber Zombie at least until he had to leave!

In the green corner we have Lavista Vista and Benilopax from the Drone Bay podcast.

They talk as lot about the Council of Stellar management and the voting process.

They also discuss another bitterness filled thread .from Digital Communist, everyone favorite Misanthrope.

Lead out tune 'I've got the power!' by Snap!.

Show31, EPIC FAIL turns into EPIC WIN.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

Looks like some members former members of IAC were not happy with Tyraxx's return to power, so they formed Oddesey Alliance. They have then headed off to Period Basis to join Tortuga. The rumor mill suggest that IAC will not take this lying down.

The MC head up north to take on PURE. Unfortunatly dj wif, one of their neighbours from Hyrda, losses his Iteron MK 3 filled with some expencive bling at a MC gate gank.

In the north, the Morsus Mihi and Outbreak war grinds on. nobody seems to be in much of a rush.

Tri and KIA go to war with each other, for no good reason. Given that they live miles from each other and are busy with their own games, we don't expect to see a lot of fighting.

In Discussion point this week, Council of Stellar Management voting begins on the 5th May.

We are still pretty much unsure about this, but we will hopfully help with debates from the candidates. Still the council is getting some attention from mainstream news.

Also check out the Video from fanfest presented by Xhagen and Dr EyjoG.

For Homework this week Urban would like you to read Matter by Iain M Banks. The final Culture novel he will write.

Show, Urban this week has managed to define a totally new level of EPIC FAIL.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

Some members of Goonswarm have decided to rename themselves Jihad Swarm' and declare war on miners in empire space. Some Denizens of New Eden, are not very happy but we personally don't mind at all.

In the north, it looks like Morsus Mihi and Outbreak have gone to war. We rather like both alliances so its hard to know who to cheer for,

In Discussion point this week, The tourney is back. We discuss the first weekend matches and tatics

We also talk about the EVETV production. In general we like it, but a few things perplex us

For Homework this week Blinky would like you to check out the Dead like me. A black comedy which he likes a lot

Show 29, Sorry about the problems with the hosting for the last Episode, Still the file is fixed and Urban and Brent are playing their debt to society.

TWD of Evolution shows off some snazzy artwork and makes a rather good post about BOB (currently) successful defense of NOL-M9. However his knowledge of history is a little bit off comparing the battle to the Alamo though, given that in reality the Texans lost that one.

In the north, Triumverate are having a scrap with smashkill and friends! We knew the North couldn't stay calm for long,

In Discussion point, We invite Benilopax and Lavista Vista who will soon be starting the Warp Drive Active: Industy Podcast. onto the show

These guys then go and discuss Dr EyjoG's second Quarterly Economic Newsletter. There are many points of interest to get through

Show 28, Massive massive thanks to SUAS (shutupandshave) for making such an awesome intro and letting us use it! Also check out C4w3 video for the tune!

The War against BOB has slowed down for a bit due to the effects of sovereignty. However on the f13 forums a rumor starts that Molle has handed over the reigns While this would be fun, we are pretty sure this isn't the case. What certainly isn't fun is Goon's rather nasty attacks on DICE fleet commander LadyScarlet. Not Cool guys! According to the f13 forum again CCP have taken a dim view on those launching the attacks.

STOP PRESS! Red Titan Down! A sign of resurgence from Band of Brothers or too little too late?

As discussed last show, AAA finish their war with KOS by kicking them out of 0.0. Knights of the Southern Cross have now disbanded. What will AAA do next though?

In Discussion point, we welcome back WDA's equivalent of the Stig - Crovan! Mr C now has a An awesome blog. Go check it out

Crovan provides an in-depth guide to Electronic Warfare We also discuss the upcoming changes including those mentioned in Tuxford's Blog.

For homework this week Blinky would like you to look at Johnny the homicidal maniac! A wonderfully violent surreal comic!

Apart from playing EVE, this week Blinky and Urban have been playing Call of Duty 4 Which is so good that it makes them Swear so much the bleep machine melts!

Ooops! Due to technical issues we weren't able to do our whole review of Far from Homeworld Comics. To make up for it we pimp the comics again. Its still a great job ArmaggedonPSA and keep up the good work

Show 27, With everyone and his dog putting the boot into Band of Brothers at the moment, we decide to jump on the bandwagon too!

Yes times look Bad for the Bobbits, Despite slowing down their enemies they have still lost a ton of space, being out numbered 10-1 and loosing a a Nyx along with a ton of other ships, Goon swarm titans trespassing inside their POS bubbles. Its enough to make Sir Molle start acting Churchillian.

Not everyone is busy fighting BOB though. AAA and KOS are busy kicking seven bells out of each other, really for no good reason!

In Discussion point, EVE Moves to Steam. Seems like a good business to Us

We should point out that despite some peoples complains, you don't need Steam to download and Play EVE. You do however need it to play Portal and therefore you haven't got it already you should go and get it from here!

For Homework this week Urban would like you to check out the Astronomy Cast Podcast Its an excellent show filled with lots of execlent information about our universe.

In Addition check out some awesome websites. Firstly check out Massively.com especially the stuff written by the awesome Michael Zenke and in addition check Stratics especially the stuff from Dana Massey.

Show 26, sorry we are a bit late again guys, Still Blinky and Urban have been productive in proving (if proof was needed) that they really are uber-dorks.

Things are looking bleak for Band of Brothers. A quick glance at the influence map Will show that they are being squeezed by Bruce, Sons of Tangra and friends in Fountain, IRON, Razor, Brotherhood and IAC in Querious meanwhile in and around Period Bias the massive scrap between BOB and the Tourtugaites continues.

We also give props to Dwight Hammerhead from Sons of Tangra. Thanks for taking the time to talk to us and all the best for your alliance in 2008!

Nice Try Mr stupidly named Alt (POST WITH YOUR MAIN!) but I'm afraid your not fooling anyone!

Speaking of Alliance prospects for 2008, Check out Hardis Thread regarding how you see the various Alliances doing this year and post your views!

We welcome back Crovan from Eternity INC. He goes through a guide on the complicated issue of gunnery concentrating on subjects such as Opital and Falloff, Signature Radius, Turret tracking speeds and Transversal velocity.

Also check out CCP's guide to tracking which has some very cool flash graphs. Along with the subject of tracking, Crovan goes though the long promised guide to speed tanking.

Finally Crovan attempts to get himself sacked from the MC by pointing out how Seleene's hot phone lines make him rich and demanding we link to the video of KIAEDDZ shaking his funky stuff.

For homework Blinky wants you to check out the Korean gangster fest Old Boy.

Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

Show 25, Happy new year everyone! Urban had a crappy Christmas in a wasteland with no broadband (THE HORROR!) which is why there wasn't a show last week. Still we are back ready for action!

MC and some of their buddies grab period basis in an operation called Tortuga Naturally BOB, the previous owners of Period Basis, aren't taking this lying down and lots of ships go boom.

We welcome Jade Constantine back to the forums. Good to see you again.

In the North has apparently got a bit dull for Triumverate so they return to the south to continue their scrap with CVA

Blinky and Urban tell their highlights and lowpoints of 2007 in EVE and post their hopes for 2008. If you have any thoughts on what your highlights and low lights, post this in This thread on the WDA GAX Group.

Kieron writes a Dev Blog about the changes to forum moderation. More sane forum moderation can only be a good thing in our book!

For homework Urban wants you to check out True Romance. A quality film with a magnificent scene between Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken.

Show 24, So you want to work for CCP?

The final lot of interviews from fanfest all you people who are considering applying for a job with CCP games.

The first thing you should do is check the CCP Jobs page. There you will find information regarding the current vacancies for CCP.

First up we talk to David Bockman the HR manager for CCP/Whitewolf. CCP are looking to hire people to work on both EVE the other project.

Of course you don't speak to HR managers to get the unbridled truth on working for a company, so we then have a chat with recently employed developers CCP Atropos and CCP Tryphon, You may know them better with the names they had before they were Dev's, as they were Hinik and Ifni.

If you are looking to work at CCP, you chances will be helped by being part of the volunteers program. Check out the ISD recruitment page, for more information

Finally, if you would like to work for CCP but don't want to give up you day job, why not work as a freelance mission writer? Urban chats to 'the mission dude' Scott Holden, about this role. Go to the mission writer recruitment page if this interests you.

Show 23, so yeah, ummm, the Trinity had a few issues. Urban and Winterblink know how you have been suffering.

First up a big thank you to Kami and Haroldium from the CoMutiny Podcast for helping us out in the intro.

With the boot.ini issue and the known issues page. being the size of war and peace, well it hasn't been the easiest week.

To show solidarity with the suffering masses in EVE, the guys drink shot after shot of Brennivin the only substance in the universe which tastes worse than Rotten Shark. Lots of issues means lots of shots.

Its not all bad though, Blinky has some awesome screen shots of the new graphics in his Flickr Page.

To be brutally honest the in-game news has been a bit of a blur, something about MC taking a contract on BRUCE, Red alliance titans causing trouble and KIA Eddz's ego gets pimped a bit more.

For homework blinky wants you to check out Battle Royale A masterful film what ever your state of inebriation.

To make the new grapics even sexier why not try nHancer, as recommended by Winterblink/p>

Also check out the new and awesome GAX site We have set up a new warp drive active group. The site is currently invite only, so give urban a shout and he will send you an invitation. Great work guys

Lead out tune 'Black Flag Days' by Eve to Adam.

Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

P.S. Check out Blinky's adventrues in drunkeness he did after the show!

Show 22, This will hopefully get to you in time for the downtime for the trinity expansion. We hope you remembered to train long skills before everything went down.

Urban has been working such long hours that the only booze he has is some Brennivin he got in Iceland. Blinky joins him for a glass of pure horribleness.

Urban interviews Tony Gonzales the author of the upcoming EVE Novel. He does sound scarilly like Tony Soprano though.

Next up its Richie Shoemaker AKA Zapatero the Editor. We discuss Issue 9 and what's coming up in issue 10 before running off to a fanfest.

Finally we get to talk to the Transgaming guys Who ported EVE from Windows to the Mac and Linux. More power to them!.

Lead out tune 'Paperback Writer' by Mystery Bloom.

Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.
