Episode 37, With EVE now five years (and 2 weeks) old we decided to put out a special show to celebrate the event and too look back to the dark days in 2003 when the game first launched.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

First up we have an interview with Valerie "Pann" Massey. (she's the one on the right). Blinky should really turn his phone off in interviews though.

Check this out Goonies! Pann really liked the Little Bee's movie

Back in the early days of the game, the game was published by Simon & Schuster Interactive who had some weird ideas about marketing the game

They though making the box look like this was a good idea. They then filled it with garishly colored crap like the manual and finally put out some horrible movies like this one.

We also got Pann to admit that SSI did force the game to release too early!

Even though SSI has now shut down, we manage to snag Mike "Campion" Wallace to hear his side of things. He was the man who brought EVE to SSI and he also was EVE's first producer. He is now the boss of Colony Studio.

After SSI shut down, CCP bought back the rights to publish the game and put it up online to download for free. This was a radical move in 2003!

We then move onto talking to some of the important players in the early days of the game. First up we talked to Trey Ratcliff from John Galt Games. Oldskool players may remember him as Ragnar, the first boss of Taggart Transdimensional Inc.

Just to remind you that Trey is the man in over-all charge of the Web Wars EVE Project.

Sadly we can't get him to talk about Ragnar's Magic Hat, but its OK, Urban remembers!

No look back to 2003 would be the same without a bunch of evil Bastads called m0o, in this history of MMO's nobody has managed to rule an entire game quite like those guys.

we then welcome two of the m0o veterans Stavros for about the 9 millionth time on the show and Vegeta.

Incidentally, the background music we have used for the interview segments is "the shadow of the sun" by Alienhand. Thanks very much for letting us use the tune sir!

Anyway we hope you've enjoyed this mammoth look back at the early days of EVE, we will (with luck) be doing some more shows based on the events of other years. No promises and no time frames, but we would really like to do this.

Lead out tune, "Time Warp" from the Rocky Horror Show.

Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

P.S. Congratz to Lavista Vista and all the other successful candiates.

The Tortuga experiment is at an end. While the various alliances make their way back to Empire space, Seleence decides to Disband the MC Good luck in the future to all the former MC Pilots.

SirMolle, the leader of Band of Brothers, cannot help Gloating in poetry form While we may not approve of this, we cannot deny that he has earned the right to.

LOLMAILS have a new name, they are now FAIL MAILS, but its still the funniest killmails which get sent to us. Fighting for the prize this week we have ZITremedy and his Civillian fitted 'geddon versus Larenic's omni-tanked Myrmidon.

Episode 35, Apologies for the rubbish intro, it was Blinky's idea and Urban couldn't talk him out of it. Watching this might help the intro make a bit more sense.

EVE Files Mirror praise be to Chribba!

RAZOR Titan Down. Insurgency with a bit of help from Triumvirate. The invasion of RAZOR space if also going pretty well.

Speaking of Triumvirate, Looks like they have lost a few corps whats more the reasoning behind The Illuminati. getting sack is total madness!

In the south, Band of Brothers turn all their attention against Tortuga in general and MC in particular. The empire strikes back?

Former friends IAC and AAA are now at each others throats, AAA are having the best of it making IAC space look like a bow tie.

OOOH new feature! Ladies and Gentlemen, WDA is proud to bring you LOLMAILS, the funniest killmails we see every week. Fighting for the prize this week we have Evil Edna's uber expencive crow versus Jove Witness's omni-tanked Phobos.

Got a good LOLMAIL for us to ridicule on the show? evemail the link to Urban or Winterblink!

In Discussion point this week, We do a little guide to the UI and brackets, not a million miles from what Crovan did on the Drone Bay TBH, but we recorded it before we heard his show.

For homework this week Blinky would like you to check out the documentary America Freedom to Fascism.

In Community news, Urban finds an execlent new podcast from Van Hemlock, which goes by the imaginative name of The Van Hemlock podcast.

Bacon is back! We forgot discuss it for a bit during the recording (I know, we suck!) but the guys at the

Drone Bay did an excellent voice talking about it that we suggest you listen to that instead.
